Undergrad

When I moved from Texas to attend the Kansas City Art Institute, it was an amazing formative experience. KCAI was a really good fit for me in terms of what the program had to offer, and I was able to kind of reinvent myself while being on my own for the first time as a young adult. After my freshman foundations year, I got hired as a technician in both the central wood shop and in the design shop for metal fabrication, so as a sophomore sculpture student I had keys to the kingdom…every space in which sculpture could be made on campus. Needless to say I was in hog heaven and may have slightly abused this unlimited access to equipment and space…
